I want to thank everyone who stopped by my booth at the Public Market Annex! I had a terrific time and got lots of wonderful comments on my Collage Brooches and handmade paper bead earrings. It's just a few days before Christmas and I have one more commissioned brooch to complete and deliver, just a little bit more shopping to do, and it will be time to settle into the "holiday mode," which in my world means cozy family traditions and a lot more relaxation than the weeks leading up to the big day!
After the holidays, I'm looking forward to getting back to the studio to create a new collection of Collage Brooches. I keep thinking of new twists, including one I'm trying out today!
Some of my out of town friends have asked how to purchase my work from afar, at this moment just email me and we can work something out. I will be working on an online sales option as soon as I have my "inventory repleted.
Finally, something new for me: I will be participating in the Art Bead Journal Project for 2010. I will be creating a series of twelve works, one for each month of the year. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing, and most of all creating these pieces.

ReplyDeleteI do stitch the beads and other elements on first for the central covered button that makes the center of the brooch. then I back it and put the pin back on and do the ring of simple brick stitch around the covered button, which I behind frames the beadwork and adds some finishing presence to the beading.
